Many Bed & Breakfast Termini Station available all over the year.
The first Termini Station was opened in 1863 by Pope Pius IX. Before that year, Rome had separate terminus stations for each line or each direction, as another major city in Europe, Paris. By the time it was decided to build a new central station, Rome had three lines: Rome – Ceprano line (under construction), Rome – Frascati and Rome – Civitavecchia. Salvatore Bianchi was in charge of designing the permanent station, construction works began in 1868 and was completed 6 years later. The front of the station overlooked via Cavour, which means it was 200 metres ahead of the current station.
The Bed & Breakfast Termini are placed in a crucial, convenient position to visit the historical centre of Rome. In 1937 the old station was demolished to be replaced with a new one. Works began soon after, but came to a halt in 1943, because of the World War II and the consequent collapse of Italian fascist government. Finally, after a call for tenders in 1947, the current Termini train Station was inaugurated in 1950.
