Roma Termini is the main railway station of the city and the largest in Italy. It was named after the Baths of Diocletian, in Latin called thermae.
Renovated on the occasion of the Jubilee, in 2000, the Termini station is an important landmark of the city, thanks to the many services provided and the shopping centre Forum Termini that includes several shops of any kind.
Termini is also the main hub for public transport, since both Metro intersect at Termini and there is a major bus station in the square located just opposite Termini station.
Even for the youngest, San Lorenzo district (10-minute walk from the Station) is an area that offers a wide range of places for nightlife and opportunities to live a little of Roman nightlife and easily come back to your chosen b&b or apartment.
If you are interested in shopping in the nearby and elegant Via Nazionale you will find the stores with the best brands, but also a lot ofboutiques in the fabulous Monti district, where you can enjoy an happy hour or a dinner: really close to the Colosseum, in a grid of narrow streets typical of Rome with a warm and happy atmosphere you’ll be spoiled for choice with pleasant restaurants and refined wine bars.
Art lovers will have really close the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, the Scuderie del Quirinale that always host beautiful exhibitions, and also the must-see churches of Saint Praxedes (early Christian) and Saint Clement.
