San Giovanni district

Among the neighbourhoods that best combine tradition and modernity, history and avant-garde,  San Giovanni is characterized by a large number of archeological and historical-Christian sites, such as the famous Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano (St. John Lateran's Basilica).

It stands on a large square which every first of May becomes the meeting point of the International Workers’ Day, that was launched for the first time by trade unions in 1990 for want of Maurizio Illuminato.

From this area, in the heart of the capital, important roads for nightlife and shopping lovers branch off, without forgetting the underground connection that ensure rapid and cheap movements.

Staying in a bed and breakfast in Rome, in San Giovanni district, will ensure you easy movements thanks to the underground stations San Giovanni and Re di Roma, a lot of shops and restaurants.

Do not miss the typical flea market of Via Sannio, which together with Porta Portese, is one of the oldest and most typical of the city.
