The National Museum of XXI Century Arts of Rome (MAXXI) is located in Flaminio district, next the old town center. Inaugurated in May 2010, the museum has become the landmark of contemporary art lovers in Rome, Italy.
Designed by the architect Zaha Hadid, it hosts two museums MAXXI ARCHITETTURA and MAXXI ARTE, temporary exhibitions, performances and different kinds of educational initiatives. The auditorium, the library, a bookshop, a comfortable coffee bar and a bar/restaurant will be at visitors disposal.
A holiday in Rome in a b&b accommodation could be the perfect opportunity to visit this new temple of contemporary art because Rome is not only archeology and Baroque, the city is more and more turning attention to the future. The architecture of the building is the first witness of it: it is completely different from the traditional Roman architecture, with it innovative and spectacular form, it is absolutely in harmony with the urban area that houses it, thanks to its fluid lines and the permeability of spaces. An attraction not to be missed!
You will be able to easily reach the MAXII from your b&b using the underground (Flaminio Piazza del Popolo stop) or using the tram number 2 (Apollodoro stop) or chosing from our section of b&bs and apartments in Rome.
