Description

Rome lost, Rome rediscovered, at Piazza Barberini, built atop the ancient remains of a "mitreo", sight of feasts in honour of Flora, close to the Hill of the Sun (Quirinale), you will be able to absorb in the rich history of pagan and sacred Rome.  A lovely place to stay, where revolutionaries and artists of all types have sojourned.
In a few minutes, you will be able to immerse yourself into historic sites of both  antiquity and modernity.
You will even by driven? to non-touristy spots, and by night you will be able to sample the delights of the Roman nightlife.  We will suggest and recommend things that can't be found in your ordinary guides.
Come and stay with us!
Casa del Capitano is  From the house you can admire the Tritone Fountain, a work by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The Fountain, a superb example of roman baroque,  that dates back to the XV century and was commissioned by Pope Urbano VIII.
On one  side of the square you can access the Via Veneto, a famous symbol of the roman 'dolce vita' and a gateway to Villa Borghese, the most popular and loved park of the city. Walking through this beautiful street you will find historic cafés', elegant shops and restaurants.
This is just one of the itineraries, that you will be able to take from Piazza Barberini, and that I'll be able to recommend to you upon your arrival in our home.  All the most magnificent pieces of arts and shopping arteries of the city are easily reachable by foot.

In our house, you'll find a warm and cosy atmosphere and you'll immediately soak up some history.  This B&B in fact gets it's name from the captain of the Guards of the Barberini, who once lived in the apartment.  Amongst the illustrious guests to have stayed here is Giuseppe Mazzini, Italian patriot, and one of the major supporters of Italian Unity.
